The controller of defence accounts (CDA) of Patna conducted a successful outreach event named SPARSH (System for Pension Administration) at the Bengdubi military station near Siliguri, aimed at resolving pension-related issues for ex-servicemen and retired defence employees. Inaugurated by Chief of Defence Staff Gen Anil Chauhan, the initiative showcased a robust grievance redressal mechanism and facilitated direct credit of pensions to approximately 31 lakh defence pensioners’ bank accounts, enhancing transparency and efficiency. The outreach aligns with the Ministry of Defence’s efforts to bring services closer to veterans, particularly in remote areas, underscoring the commitment to minimizing bureaucratic processes and improving access to essential services for those who served the nation. This development reflects a significant stride towards digital governance in India’s defence sector.
