Indian Army organizes cancer awareness and medical camps in Northeast.
On National Cancer Awareness Day, the Indian Army organized medical relief and health awareness camps in Assam and Manipur, showcasing its commitment to community welfare and healthcare access in remote areas. In Manipur, camps at Jalenbung Village and PHC Andro offered cancer awareness sessions and free medical consultations, benefiting over 200 individuals. Additionally, in Assam, a program at Kakopathar Senior Secondary School educated students about cancer through interactive sessions and demonstrations. These initiatives not only enhance public health awareness but also strengthen the relationship between the Indian Army and local communities in the Northeast, underscoring the Army’s role in humanitarian assistance and public health initiatives.
