The Indian Army recently honored families of Kargil war martyrs from Tamil Nadu in a heartfelt gesture commemorating the 26th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas. Personnel from the 96 Medium Regiment recognized the sacrifices of soldiers like Naik R Subramani and SPR M Jayavelu, presenting their families with letters of appreciation and mementos. Major Mariappan Saravanan, renowned for his valor during the conflict, was also honored posthumously. This initiative underscores the Indian Army’s commitment to honoring the sacrifices made by its personnel and fostering a strong bond with the families of fallen heroes, thereby reinforcing national pride and solidarity in remembrance of past sacrifices.
