BSF Jawan Missing in J&K Found in Delhi on Way to UP Home
A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan, Sugam Choudhary, went missing from his battalion headquarters in Srinagar and was traced in Delhi while en route to his home in Uttar Pradesh. Authorities initiated extensive searches in Srinagar but initially could not locate him. BSF and local police lodged a missing report, ruling out any subversive motives behind his disappearance, indicating that personal reasons might have prompted his departure. Following a recent surge in violence, notably the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that resulted in the deaths of 26 civilians by Pakistan-backed terrorists, security forces are on heightened alert. Subsequent operations have successfully eliminated the terrorists involved in that attack. Meanwhile, a departmental inquiry into Choudhary’s absence will be conducted to address his unauthorized travel. The incident reflects the complex challenges faced by security personnel in conflict-prone areas, showcasing their commitment to duty despite personal challenges. While the focus remains on ensuring security in Jammu and Kashmir amid ongoing anti-terror operations, the case highlights the need for supportive measures for personnel coping with stress in high-pressure environments.
