Two more Pakistan-linked operatives convicted in Indian Navy espionage case, total now four.

A Special Court of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has sentenced two more individuals, Mohammad Haroon Haji Abdul Rehman Lakdawala and Imran Yakub Giteli, linked to a Pakistani ISI espionage case involving the leaking of sensitive Indian Navy information, bringing the total convictions to four. Both were found guilty under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and received five and six-year sentences, respectively, amid revelations of their connections with Pakistani intelligence operatives. This case, which has seen 15 arrests including Navy personnel, underscores serious threats to India’s national security and highlights the ongoing efforts to dismantle espionage networks undermining the country’s integrity. The continued legal proceedings reflect the Indian government’s commitment to countering external threats effectively.
