Lieutenant General Abhijit S. Pendharkar, General Officer Commanding Spear Corps, visited forward areas of Arunachal Pradesh on November 4, 2025, to review operational preparedness ahead of the tri-service Exercise Poorvi Prachand Prahar scheduled for November 11-15, 2025. The Corps Commander inspected ongoing Operation Chaukas activities along India’s eastern borders, interacted with troops deployed in harsh high-altitude terrains, and lauded their professionalism and resilience. The exercise in Mechuka aims to enhance joint combat capabilities, multi-domain integration across land, air, and maritime forces, and validate command and control structures for future conflicts. This major exercise reflects India’s strategic emphasis on strengthening border security, ensuring interoperability among the Army, Navy, and Air Force, and demonstrating robust military readiness close to the Line of Actual Control. The visit and exercise underscore India’s commitment to operational excellence and deterrence against regional threats in the Eastern Himalayas.
