Sriganganagar bans public movement near India-Pak border for security.
In response to the recent Delhi blast and escalating cross-border threats, the Sriganganagar district administration in Rajasthan has imposed a two-month night movement ban effective from November 12, 2025, restricting public presence within a three-kilometre radius of the India-Pakistan border from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. The order, issued by District Collector Dr. Manju, aims to curb infiltration and smuggling, notably drone-based delivery of weapons and narcotics, a threat that has surged with over 60 drone smuggling cases since 2021, predominantly along this border. Farmers are now required to seek permission for agricultural activities within the restricted zone, with prohibitions on bright lights and loud noises to tighten surveillance. This measure marks an intensification of Rajasthan’s border security, covering districts including Hanumangarh, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, and Barmer, reinforcing India’s national security against Pakistan-based terrorism and illicit trafficking.
