Russia sinks Ukraine's largest warship with naval drone strike

Russia recently claimed a significant naval success by sinking Ukraine’s Simferopol warship using a naval drone, marking a notable escalation in maritime warfare tactics. This incident coincided with a large-scale Russian drone assault on Kyiv, resulting in numerous casualties and damage to infrastructure. Analysts point out that while Russia is advancing its naval drone capabilities, including the Katran model, these systems face limitations compared to Ukraine’s satellite-linked drones. The UN Security Council will address these developments amidst growing international concerns about the expanding role of drone warfare in the conflict, indicating a pivotal shift in military strategies between the two nations.
