Pakistan suffered over 100 personnel and 12 aircraft losses in Operation Sindoor, says DGMO.
Indian Army’s Director General of Military Operations (DGMO), Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai, disclosed that Pakistan suffered significant losses during Operation Sindoor, which took place in May 2025. The operation, executed as a retaliatory measure following a terror attack in Pahalgam, resulted in the destruction of 11 Pakistani air bases, including critical infrastructure such as three hangars and four radar installations. Indian forces also confirmed the loss of over 100 Pakistani military personnel and at least 12 aircraft, including a C-130 transport aircraft and several fighter jets, all neutralized during precision strikes conducted by the Indian Air Force. The conflict showcased India’s advanced integrated air defense capabilities, highlighted by a record ground-to-air kill at over 300 kilometers. Lt Gen Ghai emphasized that India’s military strategy has shifted to recognize terror attacks as acts of war, warranting decisive retaliation without yielding to nuclear blackmail. The operation not only disrupted Pakistan’s air operations but also underscored India’s readiness to respond across multiple domains, demonstrating a robust military posture that could deter further hostilities. This development is pivotal as it marks a significant escalation in India-Pakistan military dynamics, reinforcing India’s commitment to safeguarding national security while adopting a proactive stance against terrorism.
