Operation Sindoor's Precision Strikes Deal Major Blow to Pakistan's AWACS

In May 2025, India’s Operation Sindoor inflicted severe financial and strategic damage on the Pakistan Air Force by destroying two Saab 2000 Erieye AWACS, valued at $340 million, which represented a 22% reduction in Pakistan’s AEW&C capabilities. The Indian Air Force utilized advanced weaponry, including BrahMos missiles and the S-400 system, to successfully target multiple PAF assets, highlighting vulnerabilities in Pakistan’s air defense. While Pakistan lost several fighter jets, their impact was less significant due to operational redundancy in its fleet. The operation underscored India’s superior precision strike capabilities, firmly establishing its military dominance in the region and enhancing its strategic deterrence posture.
