Naval Commanders' Conference emphasizes operational readiness amid evolving geostrategic challenges.

The Naval Commanders’ Conference 2025 was held from October 22 to 24 at Nausena Bhawan, New Delhi, bringing together the senior leadership of the Indian Navy to discuss operational readiness amid evolving regional security challenges. Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi, emphasized the Navy’s critical role in safeguarding national maritime interests and stressed progress toward a fully self-reliant Navy by 2047 through indigenous innovation and the Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX) initiative. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised the Navy’s deterrent posture, referencing its success in operations like ‘Sindoor’ and highlighting its stabilizing presence in the Indian Ocean Region, describing it as a comfort to friendly nations and a challenge to destabilizers. The conference also launched the NIPUN portal, aimed at enhancing knowledge sharing within the naval community. Discussions included enhancing interoperability with the Army, Air Force, and Coast Guard, integrating disruptive technologies such as AI and big data, and reinforcing India’s position as a preferred security partner in the Indo-Pacific. The event underscored India’s commitment to building a robust, future-ready maritime force aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
