India's Exercise Trishul raises alarm in Pakistan, highlighting regional tensions.
India’s tri-services military exercise, Exercise Trishul, scheduled from October 30 to November 10, 2025, has triggered significant alarm in Pakistan, which has responded by restricting air traffic along multiple routes in its central and southern airspace. The exercise, focused near the strategically critical Sir Creek region bordering Pakistan’s Sindh and Karachi areas, involves the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force conducting joint operations across diverse terrains including offensive maneuvers, amphibious operations off the Saurashtra coast, electronic warfare, and cyber capabilities. This marks one of India’s largest combined drills in recent years, aimed at demonstrating operational readiness, self-reliance, and innovative indigenous weapon systems under the government’s JAI vision for the armed forces. The location near Sir Creek is particularly sensitive as it controls key maritime routes and Pakistan has reportedly enhanced military infrastructure there. India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh recently warned Pakistan against any misadventure in the area, underscoring the exercise’s strategic message. Pakistan’s heightened alert and airspace restrictions reflect its anxiety over India’s growing military assertiveness along the western frontier, further illustrating the enduring regional tensions between the two neighbors.
