Indian Navy's First Training Squadron Visits Mombasa, Kenya
The Indian Navy’s First Training Squadron (1TS), comprising INS Tir, INS Sujata, INS Shardul, and ICGS Sarathi, successfully made a port call at Mombasa, Kenya, enhancing maritime collaboration between India and Kenya. The squadron is on a long-range training deployment across the South West Indian Ocean, having previously visited Seychelles, Mauritius, La Reunion, and Mozambique. During the visit, personnel from both navies engaged in professional interactions, joint training activities, and community outreach, including a yoga session and a performance by naval bands. This initiative underscores the spirit of MAHASAGAR, promoting mutual security and growth in the region, and reflects India’s commitment to strengthening maritime partnerships in a geopolitically significant theater.
