Indian Navy showcases advanced submarine rescue skills at Exercise Pacific Reach.
The Indian Navy’s Submarine Rescue Unit (East), aboard INS Nistar, showcased its advanced capabilities during Exercise Pacific Reach (XPR-25), hosted by the Republic of Singapore Navy from September 15 to 25, 2025. Demonstrating exceptional precision, the unit successfully executed three submarine mating operations, marking its first overseas engagements and solidifying India’s status in global submarine rescue operations. Key achievements included the maiden dive of the Indian Deep Submergence Rescue Vehicle (DSRV) Tiger X, which performed successful mating with submarines from the Republic of Korea Navy and the Republic of Singapore Navy. This exercise significantly enhanced multinational collaboration in submarine rescue, highlighting India’s commitment to global maritime safety and its emerging leadership in underwater rescue technology.
