An 18-member team from the Indian Army’s Eastern Command has successfully scaled Mount Kangto, the highest peak in Arunachal Pradesh at 7,042 meters, marking a historic achievement in Indian mountaineering. The ascent, accomplished via a challenging southern route, was flagged off on November 3 from a forward base by the General Officer Commanding of Gajraj Corps. This expedition, characterized by extreme conditions including sub-zero temperatures and treacherous terrain, exemplifies the Army’s values of grit, discipline, teamwork, and determination.
