Indian Army conducts "Amogh Fury" firepower exercise in Thar Desert
The Indian Army’s Sapta Shakti Command successfully conducted a major integrated firepower exercise, codenamed “Amogh Fury,” at the Mahajan Field Firing Ranges in the Thar Desert of Rajasthan. This high-intensity exercise showcased the seamless integration of various combat platforms, including battle tanks, infantry combat vehicles, attack helicopters, artillery, and drones, all coordinated to enhance operational readiness in a multi-domain environment. Troops executed complex maneuvers, employing modern technologies such as real-time surveillance and network-centric communication, to simulate real-time battle scenarios effectively. The exercise emphasized joint warfare capabilities, with soldiers engaging in coordinated attacks against simulated enemy positions under the cover of night, further demonstrating their tactical proficiency and adaptability. Notably, “Amogh Fury” follows recent incidents of cross-border tensions, particularly from Pakistan, aimed at damaging Indian defense infrastructure. This exercise not only reinforces the Indian Army’s deterrence capabilities but also illustrates its commitment to maintaining operational readiness in the face of evolving security challenges. The successful execution of “Amogh Fury” highlights the importance of technological integration and joint operational capabilities, positioning the Indian Armed Forces as a formidable deterrent in the region while enhancing their preparedness against potential threats.
