In a commendable display of coordination between the Indian Army and civil administration, a major tragedy was averted in Tulail, Jammu and Kashmir, on October 8. A fire erupted in the area, damaging multiple houses and prompting swift action from local authorities and Army personnel, who successfully evacuated residents and provided relief and medical assistance. Similarly, on September 20, the Chinar Corps responded to a fire in Anantnag district caused by an electrical short circuit, effectively rescuing residents and mitigating further losses. These incidents underscore the Indian Army’s commitment to public safety and its proactive role in disaster management, enhancing community resilience in sensitive regions of the country.
