Indian Armed Forces Depart for Multilateral Exercise ZAPAD 2025 in Russia
An Indian Armed Forces contingent of 65 personnel has departed for the Mulino Training Ground in Nizhniy, Russia, to participate in the multilateral joint military exercise ZAPAD 2025, scheduled from 10 to 16 September 2025. The contingent, led by a battalion from the KUMAON Regiment, includes personnel from the Army, Air Force, and Navy. This exercise aims to enhance military cooperation, interoperability, and the exchange of tactics in conventional warfare and counter-terrorism. Participation will strengthen India-Russia defense ties and foster camaraderie, reflecting India’s commitment to collaborative security in a multinational environment.
