India enhances eastern security with three new garrisons near Siliguri Corridor.

India has bolstered its eastern defenses by establishing three new garrisons near the strategically vital Siliguri Corridor, which connects the northeastern states with the rest of the country. The Lachit Borphukan Military Station in Assam, along with forward bases in Bihar and West Bengal, aims to enhance surveillance and operational readiness amid increasing Chinese influence and concerns over illegal immigration from Bangladesh. These developments come as the Indian Army conducts exercises in the region and strengthens its ties with the Border Security Force. The establishment of these garrisons reflects India’s proactive stance in addressing regional security challenges and maintaining military preparedness in the face of evolving geopolitical dynamics.
