India Conducts Air Exercises Amid Rising Tensions with Pakistan

India has initiated a series of large-scale air exercises aimed at bolstering its operational capabilities amid escalating tensions with Pakistan and growing military activity from China. The Indian Air Force (IAF) has issued Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) for extensive drills in Central India, scheduled from November 6 to 20, and additional exercises on notable dates through early January. Concurrently, a two-day air exercise will commence over northwestern India starting November 12, involving key airbases equipped with advanced air defence systems such as the S-400, and featuring an array of aircraft including Rafale, Sukhoi Su-30MKI, and MiG-29. These exercises are crucial for testing multi-domain operational readiness and enhancing India’s deterrent capabilities in the region, especially in light of Pakistan’s ongoing cross-border activities. Defence experts emphasize that these drills not only serve as a demonstration of military strength but also reflect India’s commitment to safeguarding its borders and maintaining regional stability.
