India and Thailand complete Maitree military exercise in Meghalaya
The 14th edition of the India-Thailand joint military exercise, Maitree, concluded successfully in Meghalaya’s Ri-Bhoi district, focusing on enhancing interoperability between the two armies. Over two weeks, troops familiarized themselves with each other’s operational procedures through complex tasks like establishing an ISR grid and conducting heliborne operations. This exercise, conducted under a UN mandate, showcased new-generation equipment and reinforced strategic cooperation between India and Thailand, highlighting India’s commitment to fostering regional security partnerships and enhancing defense readiness in a changing geopolitical landscape.
