IAF joins French Air Force in Garuda 25 bilateral exercise.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) is currently participating in the 8th edition of the bilateral air exercise ‘Garuda 25′ with the French Air and Space Force (FASF) at Mont-de-Marsan, France, from November 16 to 27, 2025. The IAF contingent, which arrived on November 10, is utilizing Su-30MKI fighter aircraft, with logistical support provided by C-17 Globemaster III for airlift operations and IL-78 air-to-air refuelling tankers to enhance the fighters’ operational range. During this exercise, the IAF will engage in complex simulated air combat scenarios alongside French multirole fighters, focusing on air-to-air combat, air defense, and joint strike operations. This collaboration not only aims to refine tactical procedures in a realistic operational environment but also fosters interoperability, professional interaction, and the exchange of operational knowledge between the two air forces, reinforcing India’s commitment to strengthening defense ties with key allies.
