In a significant operation ahead of the Nuapada by-election, the Indian Air Force (IAF) successfully conducted a night landing at Gotma airstrip, marking a first for military aircraft in the region. This operation enables secure transportation of polling personnel to Maoist-affected areas, where ground access is perilous.
