IAF Chief Praises Operation Sindoor's Impact on Pakistan

Indian Air Force (IAF) Chief Air Chief Marshal AP Singh emphasized the success of Operation Sindoor, highlighting the strategic response to escalating tensions with Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack that resulted in civilian casualties. The operation, which took place in May, was marked by precision strikes against terrorist infrastructure across the Line of Control, leading to significant damage to Pakistani airbases, radars, and military assets. Singh attributed the operation’s effectiveness to the lessons learned from the Balakot strikes in 2019 and the unwavering political support received, allowing the IAF to operate without restrictions and in seamless coordination with the Indian Army and Navy. He stressed the importance of conflict termination, arguing that prolonged warfare could undermine national security and economic stability. By achieving its objectives swiftly and agreeing to a ceasefire within days, India demonstrated a model for conflict resolution that Singh believes other nations embroiled in protracted conflicts, such as Russia and Ukraine, should emulate. This perspective underscores India’s commitment to counter-terrorism while balancing the need for operational readiness and economic progress, signaling a strategic evolution in India’s defense posture that prioritizes decisive action over extended engagements.
