Under the leadership of Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, the Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC) is being positioned as India’s premier strategic maritime hub, as discussed during the Dweep Diksha Dialogue held on September 19-20. This forum, themed “Evolution of ANC as a Strategic Hub and Beyond,” focused on enhancing India’s maritime strategy within the Indo-Pacific, emphasizing multi-domain warfare, cyber and cognitive warfare, and regional security partnerships. The dialogue engaged military leaders, veterans, and strategic experts, fostering long-term strategic thinking to navigate emerging regional challenges. As ANC transitions from a geographically isolated entity to a dynamic intellectual and operational hub, it plays a crucial role in shaping India’s defense posture and securing national interests in the Indian Ocean Region for the future.
