DIG reviews Kathua border security, advocates better coordination and technology use.

Deputy Inspector General of Police Shiv Kumar Sharma reviewed border security measures in Kathua district, emphasizing the need for enhanced checkpoints, especially at night, to monitor potential anti-social and anti-national activities. He advocated for improved inter-agency coordination, real-time intelligence sharing, and the use of technology in surveillance to fortify vulnerable areas known for cross-border infiltration and smuggling. During the meeting with Senior Superintendent of Police Mohita Sharma and other officials, Sharma encouraged the establishment of joint checkpoints and urged local communities to report any suspicious activities promptly. This initiative is significant for strengthening India’s border security amid ongoing challenges related to infiltration, thereby ensuring the safety of the region and reinforcing national security efforts.
