In a significant counter-insurgency operation, security forces in Sukma district, Chhattisgarh, dismantled a clandestine Maoist weapons factory, thwarting a potential large-scale attack. Conducted by the Sukma District Force and the elite CoBRA battalion, the operation revealed advanced manufacturing capabilities, including items like grenade launchers and IED components. Superintendent of Police Kiran Chavan confirmed that this raid, part of intensified efforts against Maoist insurgency, highlights the ongoing threat posed by such insurgents, with 249 Maoists reportedly killed this year in Chhattisgarh.
