BSF neutralizes 255 Pakistani drones amid heightened smuggling threats this year.
The Border Security Force (BSF) has neutralised 255 Pakistani drones this year, primarily used for smuggling heroin and weapons, as reported by BSF Inspector General Atul Fulzele. With the fog season approaching, the BSF is enhancing surveillance measures to counteract smuggling activities, employing special equipment for low-visibility conditions and conducting joint checks with Punjab Police in border areas. This year, the BSF has also recovered 329 kg of heroin, 16 kg of methamphetamine, and numerous weapons, while apprehending 240 Indian smugglers and 19 Pakistani nationals involved in cross-border crimes. These efforts underscore the BSF’s proactive stance in securing India’s borders against rising drug trafficking and weapon smuggling threats.
