BRO to finish double-laning Aalo-Mechuka road by March 2026

The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) plans to complete the double-laning of the 32-km Pene-Tato stretch of the Aalo-Mechuka road in Arunachal Pradesh by March 2026, despite delays due to land acquisition. The project aims to enhance connectivity for both civilians and military forces in forward areas, with several additional road projects underway, including bridges and new stretches. The completion of these roads underlines India’s commitment to improve infrastructure in sensitive border areas, ensuring better logistical support for defense operations and contributing to regional stability. The focus on all-weather connectivity is crucial for national security and local development in the region.
