Army Rescues Tourists in Ladakh Amid Multiple Cloudbursts

Multiple cloudbursts and flash floods recently struck Ladakh, impacting areas around major Buddhist monasteries and causing significant infrastructure damage. The Indian Army’s Fire and Fury Corps demonstrated its commitment to public safety by successfully rescuing 21 stranded tourists in Lamayuru, providing them with essential shelter, food, and medical care. Lieutenant Governor Kavinder Gupta noted the swift response of local officials in restoring connectivity and emphasized that no loss of life or livestock has been reported. This incident highlights the Indian Army’s vital role in disaster response and the strength of local governance in managing emergencies effectively.
