Army Chief leads 2025 Artillery Conference on modernization and operational strategies.
The Biennial Artillery Conference 2025, presided over by Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi at the School of Artillery in Devlali, focused on the operational, modernization, and transformational priorities of the Indian Army’s Regiment of Artillery. The conference included discussions on operational lessons from Operation SINDOOR and emphasized modernizing warfare through technology infusion and restructuring the artillery force. General Dwivedi praised the Regiment’s historical contributions and lauded the ongoing efforts to enhance training standards, particularly in drone warfare capabilities, as showcased at the Drone Experience Centre. Furthermore, the Indian Army and Air Force are set to order 16 indigenous laser-based drone detection systems, reflecting a commitment to advancing defense technology amid evolving threats. These initiatives underscore India’s proactive approach to bolstering its military readiness in an increasingly complex security landscape.
