US State Department silent on Pakistan's F-16s post-Op Sindoor

The US State Department has refrained from commenting on the fate of Pakistan’s F-16 jets following India’s Operation Sindoor, directing inquiries to Pakistan. This contrasts with past US statements affirming oversight of the F-16 fleet, which remains under continuous monitoring by US contractors. India asserts that it inflicted significant losses on Pakistan’s F-16s during the operation, with Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria confirming attacks on key hangars, including those housing F-16s, and claiming the downing of six Pakistani aircraft. Pakistan, however, contests these claims, emphasizing its own assertions regarding Indian losses. This situation underscores ongoing tensions in the region and the complex dynamics of U.S.-Pakistan relations regarding military assets.
