UK praises 2025 as pivotal year in India-UK defence collaboration.

In a landmark year for the UK-India defence partnership, 2025 saw significant advancements in military collaboration, highlighted by historic naval exercises such as Exercise Konkan, where HMS Prince of Wales and INS Vikrant operated together. The establishment of the Defence Partnership – India (DP-I) at Aero India 2025 marked a commitment to enhance bilateral cooperation, with notable contracts signed between Thales and Bharat Dynamics Limited for MANPADs, and development efforts for Integrated Full Electric Propulsion systems for India’s new Landing Platform Dock fleet. The eighth edition of the Indo-UK Army exercise ‘Ajeya Warrior VIII’ focused on complex counter-terrorism operations, reinforcing shared security goals. This collaboration not only strengthens defence capabilities but also contributes to economic growth, aligning with India’s ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative.
