Suvendu Adhikari vows to mobilize 5 lakh monks if Hindu attacks continue.

Protests against escalating violence targeting Hindu minorities in Bangladesh intensified in Kolkata on December 26, 2025, as BJP Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari, alongside Hindu Sanhati activists and monks, rallied outside the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission. Adhikari met officials, demanding an end to attacks, and threatened to return with five lakh Gangsagar pilgrims in January if assaults persist, slamming the Muhammad Yunus interim government’s failures and likening West Bengal police actions to Bangladeshi repression following December 23 clashes. Key incidents include the December 18 lynching and burning of Hindu youth Dipu Chandra Das in Mymensingh and the recent beating death of Amrit Mondal in Rajbari, fueling inter-religious tensions amid political unrest. From an Indian strategic lens, these events heighten border security risks, refugee pressures, and calls for Dhaka to protect minorities, with New Delhi voicing grave concerns and expecting justied.
