Putin claims Russia seeks peace, asserts Ukraine isn’t ready for talks.

Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed readiness to end the Ukraine conflict through peaceful means, stating that Ukraine is not prepared for talks. He claimed Russian forces are making significant advances on the battlefield, despite Ukrainian assertions of heavy casualties and incremental Russian gains. Putin reiterated that Russia’s terms for peace remain unchanged, including demands for Ukraine to abandon NATO ambitions and withdraw from territories claimed by Russia. This situation has drawn international attention as U.S. diplomatic efforts to broker peace face skepticism from Ukraine and its European allies, who fear concessions to Moscow may undermine their position in the conflict.
