Pakistan's Rocket Force: A Response to Failed Attacks on India

Western analysts interpret Pakistan’s establishment of the Army Rocket Force as a reaction to its inability to significantly damage Indian military bases during the May 2025 conflict, Operation Sindoor. Despite Pakistan’s claims of victory, the lack of credible evidence, such as satellite imagery, undermined its narrative while India showcased verifiable damage to Pakistani bases. This strategic pivot to enhance missile capabilities is viewed as an acknowledgement of Pakistan’s operational shortcomings and a psychological deterrent against India’s advanced air defenses. Ultimately, while the Rocket Force may enhance Pakistan’s options, it does not fundamentally shift the existing imbalance of power between India and Pakistan.
