Pakistan to launch first Hangor-class submarines with China by 2026.
The Pakistan Navy is set to commission its first Hangor-class submarines, developed in collaboration with China, by 2026, as confirmed by Admiral Naveed Ashraf. This program includes eight submarines, with the first four being built in China and the remaining four in Pakistan, enhancing the navy’s capabilities with advanced stealth and attack features. The project aims to replace the aging Agosta-class submarines and reflects a broader strategic partnership between Pakistan and China, including joint naval exercises and technology transfer. This development is significant as it strengthens Pakistan’s maritime defense and regional deterrence amidst evolving geopolitical dynamics.
