Navy official highlights concerns over Pakistan's arms and China's naval expansion.
Vice-Admiral K Swaminathan, head of the Western Naval Command, expressed significant concerns regarding Pakistan’s post-Operation Sindoor military procurement and China’s growing naval capabilities. He noted that following the operation, which targeted terror hubs in Pakistan, the country has been aggressively seeking arms worldwide, disregarding its economic challenges. The Vice-Admiral emphasized that China’s navy has now become the largest globally, highlighting its expanding presence in the Indian Ocean Region with a fleet that includes warships and research vessels. He pointed out a worrying overt collusion between Pakistan and China during recent military activities and mentioned Turkey’s emerging role as a supporter of Pakistan. Operation Sindoor, he argued, marked a new paradigm in India’s military response, demonstrating the effective synergy of all three armed forces and sending a clear message that India would no longer be deterred by nuclear threats. The operation showcased India’s multi-domain operational capabilities, suggesting a shift in the regional security dynamics and a commitment to a decisive military posture in face of provocation.
