Modi proposes digital alliance, climate fund at G20 IBSA meeting.
At the recent IBSA Leaders’ Meeting held on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa, Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed the establishment of an ‘IBSA Digital Innovation Alliance’ aimed at enhancing digital infrastructure collaboration among India, Brazil, and South Africa. He emphasized the importance of technology for human-centric development and advocated for a fund to support climate-resilient agriculture. Modi also called for UN Security Council reforms and proposed institutionalizing NSA-level meetings to strengthen security cooperation in the fight against terrorism. This meeting underscores the significance of fostering South-South cooperation, addressing global governance challenges, and reinforcing collective security amid a fragmented world.
