Modi and Starmer discuss combating Khalistani extremism and terrorism.

During discussions in Mumbai, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer addressed the issue of Khalistani extremism, reaffirming their commitment to counter radicalism and terrorism. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri noted that PM Modi emphasized the need for legal frameworks to tackle such extremism, especially following recent incidents of violence in the UK, including a synagogue attack and disturbances related to anti-India protests. Both leaders condemned terrorism in all forms and agreed on international cooperation to combat radicalization, terrorist financing, and cross-border terrorism. This dialogue underscores India’s ongoing concerns about Khalistani activities abroad and highlights the importance of collaborative efforts to maintain security and uphold democratic values against extremist elements.
