Japanese naval officers visit INS Hansa to enhance Indo-Pacific collaboration.

Japanese naval officers recently visited INS Hansa in Goa to enhance Indo-Pacific maritime collaboration between the Indian Navy and the Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force (JMSDF). The visit focused on understanding INS Hansa’s operational environment and technological capabilities, with tours of key facilities including the Air Traffic Control tower and MiG Simulator complex. The discussions fostered exchanges on operational insights, aiming to improve interoperability and operational readiness in modern maritime warfare. This engagement reinforces the longstanding cooperation between the two navies, exemplified by joint exercises like JIMEX and multilateral operations under the Quad framework, ultimately supporting a shared vision for peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region. Such collaborations are crucial for strengthening regional security and ensuring a rules-based maritime order.
