Jaishankar to Visit Sri Lanka Post Cyclone Aid Mission by India
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar is set to visit Sri Lanka following India’s rapid humanitarian response to Cyclone Ditwah, which caused extensive damage and loss of life. India launched Operation Sagar Bandhu, deploying naval and air assets, including the aircraft carrier INS Vikrant, to deliver emergency supplies and medical aid. The operation showcased India’s strategic maritime presence and commitment to its “Neighbourhood First” policy, reinforcing bilateral ties through technical and financial support for infrastructure reconstruction.
