ISRO to launch AST SpaceMobile’s BlueBird-6 satellite.

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is set to launch the 6.5-ton BlueBird-6 satellite for Texas-based AST SpaceMobile between November 2025 and the first quarter of 2026, utilizing its most powerful rocket, the Launch Vehicle Mark-3 (LVM3). This satellite aims to enhance mobile broadband connectivity in remote regions, addressing the global digital divide by providing direct-to-device services from Low Earth Orbit (LEO). BlueBird-6 is part of a broader constellation plan that includes multiple satellites designed to deliver extensive bandwidth and improve mobile coverage. The successful launch, managed by NewSpace India Limited, underscores India’s growing capabilities in the commercial space sector and positions the nation as a key player in satellite-based connectivity solutions.
