INS Sandhayak Visits Changi Naval Base, Strengthening Ties with Singapore
Indian Naval Ship Sandhayak, the first indigenous Survey Vessel Large (SVL), arrived at Changi Naval Base, Singapore, on August 9, 2025, coinciding with Singapore’s National Day. This three-day visit underscores India’s commitment to regional maritime cooperation and enhances bilateral hydrographic ties with Singapore. The ship, commissioned in February 2024, showcases advanced hydrographic capabilities, including coastal and deepwater surveying as well as humanitarian assistance operations. The visit includes meetings with Singaporean naval officials and activities aimed at fostering professional exchanges, demonstrating India’s growing leadership in maritime diplomacy and regional capacity building through its Hydrographic Department.
