Indonesia and India advance BrahMos missile deal during minister's visit.

India and Indonesia are advancing negotiations for a prospective deal on the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile during a visit by Indonesian Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin. This initiative, recognized for its effectiveness in conflicts, is supported by a positive outlook from Russia. The deal aligns with both nations’ goals to enhance defense ties, particularly in the Indian Ocean Region, and reflects Indonesia’s interest in strengthening domestic defense manufacturing capabilities. India’s role as a potential Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) hub for Indonesia’s Air Force and Navy further underscores the strategic partnership established during the January summit between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Prabowo Subianto.
