Indian Navy Enhances Ties with Mozambique During Port Visit

The Indian Navy’s First Training Squadron (1TS) successfully completed a four-day port visit to Maputo, Mozambique, from September 16-19, 2025, enhancing naval cooperation through joint training exercises, including diving operations and firefighting drills. The deployment emphasized community outreach, with over 1,000 local school children touring the ships, and a medical camp providing care to more than 100 patients. High-level meetings between Indian and Mozambique naval officials underscored the strengthening defense ties, aligning with India’s broader maritime vision of MAHASAGAR. This cooperation not only fosters operational interoperability but also promotes peace and stability in the Indian Ocean Region, reflecting India’s commitment to building enduring partnerships in Africa.
