Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Santosh Jha, met with Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi to discuss enhancing the strategic partnership and regional security dynamics between India and Sri Lanka. The discussions aimed to strengthen diplomatic and defense cooperation through enhanced civil-military engagement, alongside India’s ongoing role in humanitarian support during natural disasters. Notably, the Indian Navy’s participation in the Sri Lanka Navy International Fleet Review 2025, featuring the indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant and stealth frigate INS Udaygiri, underscores India’s commitment to regional maritime cooperation and its growing self-reliance in defense manufacturing.
