Indian Army Chief promotes global peace through military cooperation at UN conclave.

During the recently concluded United Nations Troop Contributing Countries Chiefs’ Conclave (UNTCC) held in New Delhi from October 14 to 16, 2025, Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi engaged in significant discussions with military leaders from various nations, including Ethiopia, Tanzania, Burundi, Uganda, and Nepal. These high-level meetings focused on enhancing defence cooperation through joint training initiatives, professional military education, and collaboration in United Nations peacekeeping operations, underscoring a collective commitment to promoting regional and global peace and stability. In his interactions, General Dwivedi emphasized India’s dedication to fostering partnerships built on shared values and mutual respect while reinforcing the importance of a rules-based international order. Notably, he reiterated India’s ethos of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’—the world is one family—highlighting India’s role as a responsible stakeholder in global peacekeeping efforts. The conclave served as a vital forum for addressing contemporary security challenges, enabling nations to share insights and forge stronger military ties under the UN framework. This initiative not only strengthens India’s position as a leader in international security matters but also enhances its bilateral relations with participating countries, reinforcing the notion of India as a friend and partner in peace.
