India warns Pakistan on Sir Creek dispute amid rising tensions.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh issued a stern warning to Pakistan regarding the long-standing Sir Creek dispute, emphasizing that any misadventure would provoke a decisive response capable of altering the region’s historical and geographical landscape. He criticized Pakistan’s military infrastructure expansion near the estuary, reinforcing India’s commitment to securing its territorial integrity amidst ongoing tensions. The dispute, rooted in maritime boundary interpretations since the 1947 Partition, holds significant economic implications due to potential oil and gas reserves. With increasing military deployments from both nations, particularly Pakistan’s enhanced presence since 2019, the situation remains tense, underscoring the importance of diplomatic dialogue to resolve the contentious issue peacefully while maintaining vigilance on the ground.
