India warns Pakistan of harsher responses after Exercise Ram Prahar preparations.

India’s Western Command recently conducted Exercise Ram Prahar, a month-long military drill involving over 20,000 personnel, simulating offensive operations along the Pakistan border in Punjab. Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, emphasized the military’s readiness to respond to any future provocations from Pakistan, suggesting that India’s next response would be significantly more severe than the previous Operation Sindoor, which resulted in substantial damage to Pakistani terrorist camps. The exercise showcased India’s operational agility and multi-domain capabilities, incorporating ground and air maneuvers with advanced weaponry, including Apache helicopters and drone surveillance. The choice of location was strategic, designed to mirror the riverine terrain of Punjab, thus preparing forces for potential challenges in a real conflict scenario. This display of military preparedness underscores India’s commitment to deterrence and strategic assurance amid an increasingly fragile regional security environment, signaling to Islamabad that any missteps could lead to a far more intense military response.
